A Go to http://www.spokennetwork.com/affiliates and fill in your username and password. Once you are logged in select the "Standard Links" option from the left hand menu. You will your base referral URL which looks like this:-

Q How do I use Sell Direct?
A Sell Direct is a very powerful tool which allows you to generate individual product sales. This question is comprehensively answered in our "Getting Started with Audio Books" page. Briefly here is how it works:-

SellDirect is an amazingly easy system for setting up the whole sales process for any audio title available in our store.

It allows you to quickly add a sales button or buy now link onto any sales page. When someone clicks on that button they will be taken to an order page that can include your header graphic, which means it looks like YOUR order page and not ours. After the order has been processed, the purchaser will be automatically transferred to a page on your web site that contains a link for downloading.

In other words, we've designed a system that makes it look like all the action takes place at your end, even though it is Spoken Network that is doing all of the work in the background (charging credit cards, providing access to the audio files, looking after licensing, etc).

To get going with SellDirect you will need to create three web pages. All three of these pages will be hosted on your existing hosting space.

1. A Sales Page
This can be a page you already have, or it can be a page you have created especially to sell this audio title. The SellDirect system will provide you with a short script to insert into this page at the point where you want the Buy Now button to appear.

2. A Download Page
This is the page that purchasers will be directed to after making a successful purchase. The SellDirect system will provide you with a piece of script to insert into this page that will provide a link for the purchaser to download their new audio files.

3. A Failure Page
This is the page that people will be directed to if their purchase payment does not go through successfully.

Q How do I get paid for my Audio Book Sales?
A Spoken Network specify that normally their affiliates are paid only by PayPal. They can send a check, but an administration fee of $15.00 will be charged for sending a check payment due to the banking and labor costs.

A You will be paid monthly in the first week of the month. Commission payments are made one month in arrears, and will be paid within the first week of the month. So for instance, if you made sales in December, you would be paid for these sales in the first week of February.

A This feature allows any member with an account to keep a personal selection of books for future purchase. Typically your customer would build a wish list in the my library section. This allows each and every single customer to build a completely personalized list of titles for his or her specific tastes in Audio Books.

Q What audio formats are the books available in?
A The Audio Books are generally available in two formats; MP3 and WMA. Both of these formats will play on PCs and Macs and most portable players. The publisher chooses which format they want the files to be distributed in. When you purchase a downloadable title from this site you will be taken to a special area of the site where you can choose from a variety of file formats. If you have a high speed connection you will probably prefer to download the highest quality file available. If you have a slow Internet connection you can choose to download a file that is smaller in size, but will not be of quite the same quality, but it will still be very listenable.

Q How many membership levels are there?
A There are three basic membership levels. The higher the membership level, the better the benefit and the greater the earning power. Generally an Annual membership is on average 35% more cost effective than a monthly membership.
  • Silver - This is the entry level membership. It costs nothing and you have to start here. This level earns 15% commission on Audio Book sales and 15% on membership/upgrade fees of member directly personally recruited one level down.

  • Gold - There are two Gold membership levels - Gold Monthly and Gold Annual. This level earns 20% commission on Audio Book sales and 25% on membership/upgrade fees of member directly personally recruited one level down.

  • Platinum - There are two Platinum membership levels - Platinum Monthly and Platinum Annual. This level earns 25% commission on Audio Book sales and 50% on membership/upgrade fees of member personally directly recruited one level down.

Q Must I be a Silver member first?
A Yes, everyone starts as a basic (Free) Silver member and upgrades from there. You can upgrade at will from the back office.

Q I paid for an upgraded membership but I am still shown as Silver Member. Why is this?
A This generally happens when your Payment has not cleared for some reason. Was this an ECheck? If so please check your PayPal account for the clearing date. We only update on receipt of the actual money. Our systems are fully automatic and the maximum possible delay is about 3 minutes for all the accounts to be registered and upgraded.

Q I sold a paid membership and it's not showing in my commissions. Why is this?
A This generally happens when your recruit's Payment has not cleared for some reason. Was this an ECheck? If so please ask your new, paid recruit to check their PayPal account for the clearing date. We only update on receipt of the actual money. As soon as we receive the money your commission will be automatically posted and the member will be upgraded to their new status.

To receive Commissions, you must be a member on the date of the sale, and on the date that commission is payable. Commissions are not paid if you cancel your membership within the 30 day guarantee period.

Q What guarantee do you offer?
A We do not have a guaranteed payout as you have to do the work yourself to get paid. However, we will gladly refund you your purchase price within the first thirty days of your membership if you are not satisfied. To receive commissions, you must be a member on the date of the sale, AND on the date that commission is payable. Commissions are NOT paid if you cancel your membership within the 30 day guarantee period.

Q What is a downline/resource builder?
A A resource builder is simply an efficient and cost effective way to gain traffic to any one of your websites. There are five resource builders at Leisure Audio Books all of which can be reached directly from the menu bar:-
  • Traffic Exchanges
  • Banner Exchanges
  • Browser Bars
  • Safe Lists
  • >SEO/Marketing
The principle of a resource builder is that various online traffic generators reward you for recruiting other members to their systems. This reward is generally a once off or a percentage of all traffic generated by the new recruit.

The traffic systems in our resource builders have been tested by us in the past two years and they all work.

Start with the traffic exchange resource builder. When you are in the resource builder you will see a simple block for each exchange. In the block there is a space for an ID. If you are already a member simply fill in your existing ID. If you are not, click on the banner and join the exchange. When you are done come back and fill in your new ID and click the "Update" button. This effectively will force traffic to your upline and place your ID in the system so anyone you recruit will fall under you and you will receive traffic from them.

The system is simple and effective. It takes several days to get IDs for all the systems in the resource builders. We suggest you do 3-4 a day and carry on until you have joined all of them.

Q How does a traffic exchange work?
A A traffic exchange swaps visitors to your site for you looking at someone else in the exchanges' site. Traffic exchanges have a surf bar with a timer and you have to look at someone else's page for a few seconds. The surf bar counts down for the required duration and tells you when and how you can view the next ad. For every ad you view you get credit. For every credit you gain you can show your ad to someone else in the exchange.

Here is a simple trick - you have an internet browser right? This is what you use to look at other websites. Your browser which is most likely Internet Explorer or Firefox or Opera has to start somewhere on some page. So we need to set our homepage so we can look at the other guy's site and in return the exchange will send a visitor to your site. Every visitor is a potential customer. We suggest belonging to all the exchanges in the traffic exchange resource builder in order to spread your exposure. When you have joined, put the start pages for each exchange in a rotator and then set the rotator page as your home page. This way every time you start, you will get a credit and you will have driven one more visitor to your site. The rotator we use is at FreeRotator.com.

If you would like to get the full benefit of the traffic exchanges, download FireFox from Mozilla. It's free and more importantly it's a tabbed browser which means you can have multiple surfer windows open. Do the tutorial at Get Yours Free. Set your Firefox browser up exactly as described in the tutorial and you can rack up surf credits with great efficiency.

If you have the very latest version of Firefox, simply go to each one of the traffic exchange start pages and bookmark them all in one separate new folder. When you next want to surf for credits, go to that bookmark folder and click open in tabs and away you go!

Once you join an exchange, you have to login and add your own sites, banners and text ads. We have already built pages for you which you will find under the "Promotional Resources" section of the main menu. All you have to do is choose the items you want and paste them into the traffic exchange in question.

Q How does a banner exchange work?
A A banner exchange is almost identical to a traffic exchange in that you have to display banners on your sites using a special piece of code provided by the banner exchange you are using. For every banner you display the banner exchange will display your banner somewhere else. Once again, we have already built banners for you which you will find under the "Promotional Resources" section of the main menu. All you have to do is choose the items you want and paste them into the banner exchange in question.

Q What is a browser bar?
A A browser bar is simply a piece of software you download and install on your computer. It adds a narrow bar to your internet browser. It displays a text ad in the bar every time you go to a new internet page. You may display an ad for every ad you look at. Effectively this means every time you go to a new page you rack up one credit per browser bar. So if you are surfing a traffic exchange and you have two browser bars running you will rack up 3 credits every time you look at a new page in the traffic exchange.

Browser bar ads are about copy writing. Keep changing your ads and watching the statistics until you get ads that work. We have provided several one liners in the "Promotional Resources" section to get you started. Be creative and write a few one liners of your own.

Q What is a safe list?
A You are all familiar with email advertisements. A safe list is simply a list in which you agree to receive emails ads in return for sending your own email ads. You have to belong to a safe list and provide the email address at which you will receive ads

Q How do I use the downline mailer??
A Our downline mailer is restricted as to how often you can use it to email your entire downline based on your membership level. Essentially you can use it to send your entire downline a message about anything whenever your membership level allows you to do so.

A A splash page is a short, powerful sales page specifically designed to attract a customer to whatever it is you are trying to sell.

Q What is a squeeze page?
A A squeeze page is almost identical to a splash page with the one major difference in that it will try to collect the customer's name and email address so that you approach the customer with a more personal sales pitch.

Q How does tell-a-friend work?
A. Our tell-a-friend system allows you to enter up to 10 email addresses per day and send the recipient a custom pre-built sales message. It is limited to ten a day to prevent it from being used to spam. This is a very powerful tool and we spent a lot of time getting the message just right.
